Smeared
by the Media - How Republicans Can Fight
Back
Dr. Karen
Siegemund is the founder and president
of the activist organization"Rage
Against the Media," which
is committed to fighting against the
corruption of our mainstream media.
After nearly 20 years as a scientist
(in the Cold War) then 10 as an
educator, she has taken the passions
that fueled those endeavors - for the
truth, for preserving freedom, for
ensuring that all our citizens are as
informed as a free nation needs us to be
- and is working towards these same
goals by fighting for the objective
media that we require and deserve.
Karen is a conservative, and a
Republican and currently serves as
President of the Pacific Palisades
Republican Club.
She has a Bachelor's Degree in Applied
Mathematics, a Master's Degree in
International Relations, and a PhD in
Education and American Culture. She was
raised in California, spent 30 years on
the East Coast where she raised her two
daughters, and is thrilled to be back in
California.

Susan Shelley |

45th
Assembly District
Susan Shelley is in the runoff
election on November 19th for the 45th
Assembly District Seat.
She needs YOU to
help her get elected. Volunteers to
make phone calls and to walk precincts
are very much needed. The district is
large and we need volunteers to help
cover it. This is an extremely
important race. If Susan is elected it
will break the super-majority of
Democrats in the State Assembly.
Please try and make the time to
volunteer to help her. Also, please let
your friends, neighbors and family in
the district that it is very important
that they vote, either by mail-in ballot
or that they vote at the polls on
November 19.
Her opponent Matt Dababneh is a former
staffer with Brad Sherman and is
well-connected. He will be well-funded.
We won't be able to compete as far as
financing, but we can make up for it by
having a well-planned ground game.
We need to knock on every Republican
door and make calls into every
Republican household in the next eight
weeks. That means that we need YOU to
volunteer to make phone calls or walk
precincts. This election will be won on
turnout.
If we can
turn out more Republicans than they turn
out Democrats, we can win this race.
There was a 9% turnout in the
preliminary election last month. If we
can get a 20% Republican turnout, Susan
will win in November! That is our task.

Panorama
Fatburger is offering an opportunity to help
SFVRC
As you know the Panorama City Fatburger
is owned by two Republicans, Julie
Nguyen and John Quintanilla. They are
offering an opportunity for SFVRC
members to eat at Fatburger. It is only
two blocks from where we meet at Galpin
Ford, so it is easy to go there before
or after our meeting, but the offer
applies anytime.
Go eat at Panorama City Fatburger, 8261
Sepulveda Blvd (at the corner of Roscoe)
Panorama City, 91402. The phone number
there is (818)894-7888. Keep your
receipt and bring it to me or to Karen
Klaparda, our secretary. We can then
turn the receipts in to Fatburger and
they will donate 15% of the receipts to
SFVRC. It is a great way to help the
club by having Fatburger donate a
percentage of your bill, but it also
helps a local business run by
Republicans.

Do Business with fellow Republicans
We
now have our Republican Business Directory
up and functioning.
and
click on the "Local Directory" tab. On
the left side of the page you will find
classifications of businesses. Click on
a classification and it will give you a
list of Republicans in that
classification.
We are encouraging all of our members
to patronize the businesses of our
fellow members and Republicans. If you
need goods and services, why not have
them provided by your fellow
Republicans?
For those of you who would like to have
your business listed in our business
directory, please send an email to:
BUSINESS@SFVRC.ORG.
Provide your name, the name and street
address of your business, your business
