Recovering our Strength |
|
The
Reagan Strategy for the 21st Century
J.E. (Jennifer) Dyer is
a retired US Naval intelligence officer
who served around the world, afloat and
ashore, from 1983 to 2004.
Her Cold War years were spent in
anti-submarine warfare and military
operational planning. After the Soviet
Union collapsed, her emphasis shifted,
with much of her community, to aerial
targeting and campaign planning.
Jennifer served in naval operations
throughout the world, as well as in
joint operations in the Balkans and the
Persian Gulf in the 1990s.
She was the first woman to deploy for
operations in submarines in the
Mediterranean Sea, in the early 1990s.
As a Navy Commander, her final
assignment was as the chief intelligence
officer for the USS Nimitz Carrier
Strike Group from 2001-2004. With
the Nimitz Strike Group, she deployed
for Operations Iraqi Freedom and
Enduring Freedom in 2003.
She lives in the "Inland Empire" of
Southern California, blogging as The
Optimistic Conservative. J. E.
Dyer's articles have appeared at Hot
Air, the Commentary blog, Patheos.com,
The Daily Caller, The Jewish Press, The
Weekly Standard online, and the blog
Liberty Unyielding.
Jennifer will give us her strategy for
Victory for Republicans going forward.

Susan Shelley |

45th
Assembly District
Susan Shelley is in the runoff
election on November 19th for the 45th
Assembly District Seat.
The results of the September 17 election
are shown below.
Her opponent Matt Dababneh is a former
staffer with Brad Sherman and is
well-connected. He will be well-funded.
We won't be able to compete as far as
financing, but we can make up for it by
having a well-planned ground game.
We need to knock on every Republican
door and make calls into every
Republican household in the next eight
weeks. That means that we need YOU to
volunteer to make phone calls or walk
precincts. This election will be won on
turnout.
If we can
turn out more Republicans than they turn
out Democrats, we can win this race.
There was a 9% turnout in the election
last Tuesday. If we can get a 20%
Republican turnout, Susan will win in
November. That is our task.
Results of September 17th Election:
You will note that there are 250,486
registered voters. There were a
total of 21,529 people who voted - not
even 9% of registered voters. Of
the 21,529 votes, 7,916 went to
Republican candidates (37%). Some
voters who voted for Democrats and the
No Party Preference candidate are
likely to vote Republican in the
November election. But our job is to
get Republicans out to vote. Forget
anything other than getting
Republicans out to vote in November.
Also, our congratulations go to Chris
Kolski and Armineh
Chelebian for
stepping up to the plate with their
campaigns.

Panorama
Fatburger is offering an opportunity to help
SFVRC
As you know the Panorama City Fatburger
is owned by two Republicans, Julie
Nguyen and John Quintanilla. They are
offering an opportunity for SFVRC
members to eat at Fatburger. It is only
two blocks from where we meet at Galpin
Ford, so it is easy to go there before
or after our meeting, but the offer
applies anytime.
Go eat at Panorama City Fatburger, 8261
Sepulveda Blvd (at the corner of Roscoe)
Panorama City, 91402. The phone number
there is (818)894-7888. Keep your
receipt and bring it to me or to Karen
Klaparda, our secretary. We can then
turn the receipts in to Fatburger and
they will donate 15% of the receipts to
SFVRC. It is a great way to help the
club by having Fatburger donate a
percentage of your bill, but it also
helps a local business run by
Republicans.

We are encouraging all of our members

fellow members and Republicans. If you
need goods and services, why not have
them provided by your fellow
Republicans?
