Mark Reed
Mark Reed
27th Congressional District

Mark Reed is the Republican candidate challenging incumbent Congressman Brad Sherman in the 27th Congressional District of California. He was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley, a suburb of Los Angeles, California.

Born August 11, 1957, Mark is a descendant of the Mohawk and Apache, mixed with German, English, Spanish and French. After graduation from El Camino Real High School in 1975, Reed studied Architectural Drafting at Pierce Jr. College from 1976-1978.

Reed, age 52, is a successful actor, activist and small businessman. After working in management positions for several years, he bought his first company at age 26 and opened a small retail store. He sold both and bought out his second company at age 32.

Reed has been actively involved in the Veterans' efforts to save the VA Sepulveda and West Los Angeles medical centers from encroachment by private sector developers (profit and non-profit). Reed believes that Veterans land is sacred, just as tribal lands are sacred to the American Indians.
Reed is an avid rancher, horseman, outdoorsman, community activist and animal lover. He enjoys freshwater and deep sea fishing, hiking and helicopter flying. He is an environmentalist and believes in the preservation of open space and wild scenic rivers.

A dedicated family man, Reed married Nina, his childhood sweetheart, August 19, 1978. They have three adult children: Son Mark, Jr. 29, Daughters Tania 28 and Jessica 26. They also have four beautiful granddaughters: Angelica 7, Ashlynn 15 months, Cloe 6 and Kalei 4.

Merlin Froyd

Merlin Froyd
Merlin Froyd
28th Congressional District

At age 27, Mr. Froyd brings a youthful perspective to the Republican Party's ticket - a perspective that gives him passion to win and optimism to believe that anyone, if he or she works hard enough, can make a difference in this great nation of ours.

Since 2001 he has worked tirelessly on his acting career and his "day job", balancing the dream with reality as so many hard-working Americans do on a daily basis.  Head of the Internet Department at Sunrise Ford of North Hollywood, Mr. Froyd has doubled sales, increased the department's size, and made the department profitable, after proving himself as the youngest sales manager in the company's history (achieving that goal at age 20).

During his time at Sunrise Ford, Mr. Froyd has been recognized by other companies for his skills at growing his department during these down economic times.  He has been asked by local news outlets to comment on the economy and the car industry in particular.  And he has worked with Ford Motor Company on training videos for new product, placing fourth in the nation for his talent at Ford Vehicle Demonstration.

Fiscally conservative and socially moderate, Mr. Froyd decided to run for office in the 28th Congressional District of California because he believes that the country's current leadership is headed in the wrong direction.  He wants to restore balance to the debate by bringing common-sense solutions to Congress that won't take more hard-earned money out of your paycheck.  He wants to free up your resources so that you can make choices for your family instead of having the government make them for you.

SFVRC Business Roster
Do Business with fellow Republicans

In these tough economic times we have decided to help each other out economically.

We are preparing a business roster of Republicans for SFVRC members.  This will be merged with a county-wide business directory that is being prepared by LA County Republican Clubs.

We are encouraging all of our members to patronize the businesses of our fellow members and Republicans.  If you need goods and services, why not have them provided by your fellow Republicans?

For those of you who would like to have your business listed in our business directory, please send an email to:
BUSINESS@SFVRC.ORG .  Provide your name, the name and street address of your business, your business phone number, your business web site address, and your email address.  Also provide a description of the services you provide or the type of goods you sell.

We would like to publish this directory by May, so please send in your information.  Send an email to business@sfvrc.org with the above information.

We expect to have another great meeting of the San Fernando Valley Republican Club on Tuesday, August 3rd.  I hope to see you there.

Sincerely,

Gary Aminoff
