John Eastman - Featured Speaker

John Eastman
John Eastman
Candidate for California Attorney General

John Eastman is a candidate for California Attorney General. As one of California's foremost legal minds, he has argued cases at the nation's highest courts on core principles of public safety, freedom and constitutional law.

John believes the law exists to protect our basic freedoms, and that California's Attorney General must tirelessly defend those freedoms as well.

First and foremost, this means the freedom to live without fear of violent crime. The Attorney General is California's top law enforcement official, and John Eastman will vigorously pursue the rights of law-abiding citizens and victims over criminals.

The Attorney General is also the People's lawyer, and must zealously defend the people's will and not use this powerful office to promote his own political agenda outside the law.

And lastly but equally important, the Attorney General must always stand for firm constitutional principles such as freedom of religion and speech, property rights, and the rule of law.

Visit John Eastman's web site for his complete biography and other information about his candidacy.

Chuck DeVore - Featured Speaker

Chuck DeVore
Chuck DeVore
Candidate for U.S. Senate

Chuck DeVore is a common sense conservative candidate for United States Senate in 2010 against Barbara Boxer.

Chuck DeVore represents 500,000 constituents in the California State Assembly. He is the Vice Chairman of the Assembly Committee on Revenue and Taxation and serves on the Veterans Affairs Committee, and the Joint Legislative Audit Committee. Chuck was elected in 2004 and reelected in 2006 and in 2008.

Chuck has been honored as the Legislator of the Year by seven groups: the California Veterans of Foreign Wars, the California chapter of the American Legion, the California State Commanders Veterans Council, an umbrella organization of 19 veterans groups, the Southern California Contractors Association, the Young Republican Federation of California, the California College Republicans, and the Republican Party of Orange County. United Way of Orange County recognized Chuck in 2006 for his legislation improving childcare.

Chuck served as a Reagan White House appointee in the Pentagon from 1986 to 1988. As Special Assistant for Foreign Affairs his duties included working with Congress to advance the President's foreign and military policy. Chuck's official travels took him to Asia, Europe, Africa, and Central America. His initiative helped develop the Arrow Anti-Ballistic Missile program.

Visit Chuck DeVore's web site for his complete biography and other information about his candidacy.

PRESENT

A Symposium
Culture of Denial:
Is our Government's Refusal to Admit Reality Harming Our Security?

FEATURING:

Maj. Gen. (RET) Paul Vallely,
Stephen Coughlin and J.D. Hayworth

Our government, our judiciary and our military are in denial about some of the most basic threats faced by this country. This includes an unwillingness to recognize that successfully interdicting potential terrorist threats requires squaring the demands of security and civil liberties; the refusal to accept the reality of a home grown Jihadist menace in our midst; the insistence that our military and intelligence services do not need every tool available to them to thwart those pledged to our destruction and the resistance to accepting that it is Islamic teachings that drive terrorists around the world and not poverty nor American policies.

This fascinating panel, featuring a member of Congress, a former member of the military and a former member of the State Department, will offer a very clear perspective on where our government is going wrong in its understanding of the world and what we can do to educate it.

Date: Thursday, April 29, 2010

Time: 7:30 pm

Location: Skirball Cultural Center, 2701 No. Sepulveda Blvd, Los Angeles

Attendance fee: $15.00

Big Surge In Americans Identifying with Republicans

This just in from CRP...

New Gallup Poll Shows Big Surge in Americans Identifying with the Republican Party.

14% Democrat advantage in party self-identification collapses to just 1%

In new data released this morning, Gallup finds that the substantial advantage Democrats have enjoyed in the number of Americans identifying with a major political party has collapsed.

Americans are turning away from the party in control of both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue: in 2008 53% of Americans identified with the Democratic Party, compared to 46% today.  Meanwhile, Republican strength has surged from a low of 39% in 2008 to 45% today, giving the Democrats just a 1% advantage.

Gallup Poll

The impact of the Republican surge, which can be attributed to large numbers of independent voters aligning with the GOP, is expected to be magnified on Election Day as Republicans historically vote in higher numbers than Democrats.  The Gallup data relates to registered, as opposed to likely, voters.

SFVRC Business Roster
Do Business with fellow Republicans

In these tough economic times we have decided to help each other out economically.

We are preparing a business roster of Republicans for SFVRC members.  This will be merged with a county-wide business directory that is being prepared by LA County Republican Clubs.

We are encouraging all of our members to patronize the businesses of our fellow members and Republicans.  If you need goods and services, why not have them provided by your fellow Republicans?

For those of you who would like to have your business listed in our business directory, please send an email to:
BUSINESS@SFVRC.ORG .  Provide your name, the name and street address of your business, your business phone number, your business web site address, and your email address.  Also provide a description of the services you provide or the type of goods you sell.

We would like to publish this directory by May, so please send in your information.  Send an email to business@sfvrc.org with the above information.
