Armineh Chelebian - 40th Assembly
District |
|
Precinct Walkers needed
The San Fernando Valley Republican
Club has precinct walks every
Saturday to talk to Republicans
about Armineh Chelebian and her
candidacy for the 40th Assembly
seat. We also place lawn signs for
Armineh.
We can always use more volunteers.
If you are interested in helping
Armineh win her primary election by
walking precincts with SFVRC, please
contact
Jim
Pavik,
oldsven@socal.rr.com.
There are two events coming up for
Armineh that you should be aware of:
1)
Saturday, May 24 (This Saturday!)
WHEN: 11:00am to 2:00pm
WHAT: Get Out the Vote (GOTV) Phone
Bank - IMPORTANT BRING YOUR CELL
PHONE!!!
WHERE: W. Valley Republican
Headquarters - 20121 Ventura Blvd.
Woodland Hills, CA 91364 Tel: (818)
704-0446
FOOD WILL BE SERVED!!!
Event Description: We have a
goal of calling at least 1000 likely
voters to remind them to vote on
June 3rd and ask them to vote for
Armineh. Everyone should bring a
cell phone (so long as you have free
weekend minutes, which almost
everyone does). You'll be given a
script (what to say) and a list of
numbers. It's easy work and very
effective. Plus, we all get to hang
out together. This could win the
election for us! Remember to bring
your charger in case your batteries
run low. Also, this event WILL
count for community service hours
for any of the students who still
need them.
2)
Canoga Park Memorial Day Parade -
Monday, May 26th
WHEN:
9:00 am - 11:00am
WHERE: Canoga Park, but
meeting at Canoga Park HS on Topanga
Canyon - exact location TBD
WHAT:
Over 30,000 residents from in and
around the district will be coming
to watch this parade. Although we
can't march in the parade, we can
walk around with signs and hand out
flyers beforehand. We'll be meeting
at the high school and breaking up
into teams (there will be an adult
with every team) and going around
the parade route with flyers and
cards. This will be a fun event,
but you must be able to walk a
decent amount. THIS WILL COUNT ALSO
FOR COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS FOR
STUDENTS WHO NEED THEM.

Primaries Impact Your Family
Recommendations
Your Resource from a Christian
Worldview
May 21, 2008
As a Christian, the June
Primaries impact your family, the
economy, taxes, education and
quality of life in California.
This election, key issues of
marriage, abortion, homeschooling,
religious liberty and more will be
impacted by Superior Court judges
and other candidates on the ballot.
As Christians we need to vote
for, not against, our values.
That's
why you need to be careful...
The judges don't want you to
know where they stand on issues.
Local and state initiatives can
be confusing and tricky. Don't
be misled into voting against
your values by deceptive
political advertising.
And the candidates: Don't
believe the TV commercials, ads
or mailers. They are filled with
lies and distortions.
We have researched and talked to
these candidates. Based on this
analysis, we have determined which
candidates are not likely to vote to
protect and promote family values.
Below are researched
recommendations from a conservative
Christian worldview.
California Initiatives:
Proposition 98 Government
Acquisitions, Regulation of Private
Property-Yes
Proposition 99 Eminent Domain.
Acquisition of Owner-Occupied
Residence-No
For local initiatives and bonds,
go to
ElectionForum.org. There you'll
find extensive recommendations
listed by county.

send this to as many friends as you
can. This election, make sure your
vote reflects your values.

What would happen if Obama won? |
|
By Tom Del Beccaro
Tom Del Beccaro, Vice-Chairman of
the California Republican Party and
our July speaker writes an online
journal called
Political Vanguard.
His most recent article is:
Stark Predictions . . .What Would
Happen If Obama Won
"The American system of Government,
with its checks and balances, tends
to restrict wide policy swings from
one Presidency to the next. Over
the broad spectrum of American
history, the differences of the
parties have not always been very
pronounced.
Consider the Nixon years when social
welfare spending jumped from just
over 6% of the economy to over 10%
largely at the behest of Republican
Nixon. Such occurrences have
fostered the words Demopublicans and
Republocrats. Contrast that with
the British system of Government
which has produced broader policy
swings when the Labour Party and the
Conservative Party change roles.
A Barack Obama victory,
however, will likely usher in a
stark difference between the parties
not unlike the election of Roosevelt
in 1932 and Reagan in 1980. Very
serious policy implications are
likely to follow in just the first
two years as the Democrats seek to
capitalize on their new found power.
"

here.
My
personal remarks:
Please click on the link above to
read the entire article. It is
important to understand the
implications for our country if
Obama should win. At this point in
time it is looking like we will
probably lose a substantial number
of seats in both houses, giving the
Democrats a strong majority in both
the House and Senate. We must do
EVERY THING we can to see that
John
McCain is elected to the White House.
At least if we have Sen. McCain in
the White House he will have veto
power over a runaway Democrat
legislature. With an Obama
presidency and a Democrat controlled
legislature the amount of damage
that can be done to our country is
incalculable.
