Save the WLA Veterans Home

Rally for Veterans - Every Sunday
WHAT:
A
Public Rally to support America's Military Veterans
and Save their Los Angeles National Veterans Home in
Brentwood.
WHY:
To stop the disgraceful and irreverent land grabbing
of this hallowed property and demand government's
full compliance and enforcement of the Land Grant
Deed of 1888.
"SAVE THE HOME"-
This land was specifically Deeded 120 years ago to
be permanently maintained as a National Home for
America's Military Veterans. Our government must
cancel the no-bid, behind-the-scenes land-grab of 16
acres of Veterans hallowed property that was given
away rent-free for a public community park.
This parcel of land is estimated to be worth nearly
one billion dollars, yet Veterans receive absolutely
nothing while their healthcare services are
seriously underfunded and woefully inadequate.
A non-profit, special interest group has plans
to take control of Veterans land and build a "central
park west." This National Home is a place of
historic quietude for Veterans rehabilitation and
convalescence and there must never be any
consideration for a noisy public community park.
There is absolutely nothing in the Deed of 1888
that allows anyone to designate any land for a
public park, open space, commercial use, or any
other purpose whatsoever, other than for the direct
benefit of America's Military Veterans. America's
citizenry must demand government's enforcement of
the Deed just as it was patriotically granted on
March 3, 1888: "To be permanently maintained as a
National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers."
WHERE:
The Veterans Public Rally will be held at the Front
Gate and on the Sidewalks outside of the National
Veterans Home, situated at the Northeast Corner of
Wilshire and San Vicente Boulevards in Brentwood.
WHO:
Southern California Veterans and local community
supporters will gather together at Sunday's Rally.
Every Sunday, 85 year-old Steve Palmer, a WW II
wheelchair Veteran from Panorama City in the S.F.
Valley is at the Rally, and so is 80 year-old Dick
Breithaupt, a Marine Veteran and member of the "Sons
of the American Revolution." Fellow Veterans from
Orange County, the Inland Empire and Thousand Oaks
have been attending as well.
WHEN:
Sunday, April 20th From 1:00 - 4:00 PM - and every
Sunday until the Home is Saved!
IMPORTANT:
Show up and "Save Our Veterans Home." It's Our
Duty!

Two Successful Events this month |
|
Republican Jewish Coalition Statewide Convention
The RJC Convention in San Francisco two weeks ago
was very successful. As Dan Pine, writer for the
Jewish News
writes, "A
minority in a minority in a minority."
That's how conservative strategist and author David
Frum jokingly described the Republican Jewish
Coalition's annual California conference, held last
weekend in deep blue San Francisco.
On Saturday the convention featured a discussion
panel which included Sally Pipes and Vicky Murray
from the
Pacific Research Institute who presented on
"defeating socialized medicine and promoting
educational choice and competition". In the
afternoon Larry Greenfield (rjchq.com),
Richard Baehr (AmericanThinker.com),
Rick Richman (jpundit.typepad.com)
and Eric Goulab (blacktyrrrr.wordpress.com)
presented on "Making the GOP case in the Jewish
Community". Immediately following was a panel of
experts which included Debra Saunders (sfgate.com),
Gary Aminoff (beartotheright.blogspot.com),
Evan Sayet
(sayetright.blogspot.com) and Tom Del Beccarro (politicalvanguard.com)
that discussed California Politics. The day
concluded with a reception hosted by the RJC
National Women's Committee followed by a banquet
honoring Vets for Freedom. An Ice Cream Party
concluded the evening with humorist Evan Sayet.
The convention concluded on Sunday with discussions
on "Helping Israel's Image", "Israel and the Media"
and "Existential Threats to Isreal".

RPLAC Academy for Candidates and Campaigns
The Republican Party of Los Angeles County held its
RPLAC Academy last weekend, which was a huge success.
Presenters were Ron Nehring, Chairman of the California
Republican Party, Tom del Becarro, Vice-Chairman of the
California Republican Party, Senator George Runner and
Assemblywoman Sharon Runner talking about his initiative
for SAFE Neighborhoods, (which I will cover in a later
newsletter) and other excellent speakers. For a review
of what happened at the Academy, read
Matt Kauble's review in Red County.
