At the monthly meeting of the San Fernando Valley Republican Club the first presidential straw poll was taken from the club members.

 

The SFVRC has been an active grassroots organization which played an instrumental role in the re-election of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

 

The volunteer group has been responsible for mobilizing hundreds of volunteers in the San Fernando Valley and plans on taking a pro active role in the up coming presidential election.

 

The two top vote recipients were Rudy Giuliani who has announced his candidacy and Newt Gingrich who has yet to announce. Close behind and coming in third place was Mitt Romney.

 

The results of the poll have been forwarded to the Giuliani and Romney campaign committees.

 

The SFVRC will be conducting another poll at the March 6, 2007 meeting.

 

Also present and taking part in the poll, were candidates for Los Angeles County Community College Board, Roy Burns and Jozef Thomas Essavi. Burns and Essavi are part of a community college coalition which includes Guy Mato and Hector Gurule.

 

All four Community College candidates are endorsed and supported by the SFVRC. More information on the community college candidates is available at www.march2007.info.
